Canadian-born (Ojibwe) actress/singer-songwriter Tinsel Korey is best known for her role as “Emily” in The Twilight Saga.

Korey’s career started after her passion for performing skits as a young child led her to pursue her dream to be a professional actress. As a teen she appeared in many commercials, and in 2003 she landed her first television role on the FOX series “Tru Calling” starring Eliza Dushku. In 2004, while shooting Spielberg's TNT mini-series “Into the West”, she composed a song of the same title that became an underground hit. The song eventually caught the attention of actor/producer Jennifer Podemski who invited Korey to perform it at the 2008 Aboriginal Achievement Awards. That year, she traveled throughout the Southwest performing in various venues. Korey’s independent film “Mothers & Daughters,” directed by Carl Bessai (who she had also worked with on “Unnatural & Accidental” in 2006) was included in the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. Tinsel’s films range from “The Lookout” starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and "Hybrid,” to SYFY’s “Wyvern” & “Black Forest". Her most recent works have been “Avarice" an action/thriller feature, the horror film “Stained,” “Bullet” with Danny Trejo and comedic feature “Fishing Naked.” Her television credits include shows such as “Sanctuary”, “Da Vinci's Inquest”, “Godivas”, “Blackstone”, and “Rabbit Fall”.

In between acting roles, Tinsel released her debut EP, "Seize The Day". It is available on iTunes and, as well as through most major online outlets. Although less known as a songwriter, the release of this EP is the result of several years of work and musical collaboration.

In her free time Korey is an acting and music coach to youth, particularly indigenous youth who have interest in the entertainment industry. Her coaching focuses on bringing out the artist through the unique talents of each person.

Korey also enjoys boxing, Muay thai, painting, watching hockey, UFC and playing guitar, piano and video games.

Tinsel now spends her time in Los Angeles, Vancouver and Arizona, with her husband Doug Yazzie, and their 4 year Border Collie “Lucky”.
